| The panther is an attribute of Dionysus. Ariadne was abandoned by Theseus on the island of Naxos after she helped him to kill the Minotaur. The god of mysteries found her crying on the beach and was delighted with the girl, but she did not believe he was THE Dionysus, so he threw his crown into the sky and created the constellation of "Corona." She smiled again and soon he married her. |
