The "river sisters" are a couple of characters that appear in my novels of Norse mythology. Two sisters who were instructed by the clan not to let anyone drink the water from the spring or bathe there, for the whole river would be a fountain at the top of the sacred mountain, so it would be a fountain born in the sky. The appearance of the two girls is a bit more realistic than my usual caricature style. When I gather all these myths in a book, the two girls would emerge as a more naturalistic fantasy.
